iNACOL and CEA Awards

2015 iNACOL Award Winner – Alison Slack, OeLC

The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) 2015 Outstanding Individual Contribution to K-12 Blended and Online Learning Award winner is Alison Slack from the Ontario eLearning Consortium.  The annual iNACOL Innovator Awards distinguish individuals for exceptional research, innovative learning practices, and outstanding contributions in blended and online learning.

Susan Patrick, iNACOL’s President and CEO, said, “It is my great honor to recognize the recipients of the 2015 iNACOL Innovator Awards, as these individuals are shaping the future of education through the creation of learning systems that expand access, catalyze change, and yield greater equity. Nominated by colleagues and peers, this year’s award winners represent the astonishing international paradigm shift toward personalized learning.”

Alison was recognized for her outstanding efforts with the grassroots organization which is a partnership of Ontario School Boards.  Since 2001 the OeLC and Alison have worked to support its partners to deliver online secondary Ontario courses, develop resources, tools and procedures, perform quality assurance, support teachers, and increase learning opportunities for students.  Find out more here.

Canadian Innovators in Education Award Winner

Canadian Education Association (CEA) and Reader’s Digest Canada recognized three award-winning school districts that are leading lasting and system-changing K-12 initiatives.  Second prize was awarded to the Sun West School Division of Rosetown, SK for their district-wide blended learning system.  Congratulations to those involved in this leading blended learning approach!
