[CNIE-L] 2016 CNIE Virtual conference – Forgot to Register for the CNIE VIRTUAL CONFERENCE?

Note that this event goes all week.

Forgot to Register for the CNIE VIRTUAL CONFERENCE?

Don’t worry it is not too late.
You can register up to 30 minutes before the session and still gain access:
https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/knocking-down-the-walls-tickets-22176147454

Some tips to ensure successful participation:

  • Test the link at least 15 minutes before your session is set to start.  We will be using blackboard collaborate for the session and this requires you to load a small launch program, follow the wizard as directed and log in using the name you would like people to use during the session. Once you login it is also a good idea to run your sound set up wizard to optimise your sound for the session. You will receive instructions on this when you log in.
  • We cannot emphasize enough the use of a separate headset (even earbud type headphones will do!) for sound. Using both speakers and a microphone together often causes an echo that makes sound very difficult not only for you but other participants as well.
  • Blackboard Collaborate works best with a standard desktop or laptop computer, you can connect with mobile devices such as tablets, but some of your usability will be limited.
  • In order to facilitate good quality for everyone, only presenters will have access to video broadcast and simultaneous speakers will be limited to 6, you may find it preferable to mute your microphone when you are not speaking to reduce background noise and also ensure you don’t become one of the 6 speakers unwittingly.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday, Tuesday and/or Thursday!

Reminder of the session topics:
Monday March 7th: Innovative Classroom Practices
