Will You Participate in Digital Learning Day 2019? Raise Your Hand!
Last year, teachers, principals, librarians, and other educators added over 2,000 events to our Digital Learning Day (DLDay) map. We’re working on the DLDay map for 2019 and will roll it out in the next few weeks—so, if you’re not already thinking about your plans for DLDay 2019, now is the time!
In the interim, we want to create some excitement about DLDay 2019 with your help. Through the click to tweet below, we’re asking you to, digitally, raise your hand if you will be participating in DLDay 2019 on February 28! This eighth annual celebration of great teaching paired with technology will feature events in classrooms, libraries, schools, and districts across the country.
Will you be celebrating #DLDay? Share the tweet below to let us know!

Do You Know What We Did Last Summer?
For Middle and High School Educators and Leaders…
Ever wonder what makes adolescents tick? Most people know that adolescents face dramatic changes in their appearance, but they do not know those changes are accompanied by biological changes in their brains too, making these years in adolescence both a time of great opportunity and a time of increased vulnerability.
In August, the Alliance for Excellent Education (All4Ed) released the first report in a series on the science of adolescent learning, How Body and Brain Development Affect Student Learning. A webinar accompanying the report brought together a South Carolina superintendent, Jesse Washington, III, PhD, and researcher from University of Southern California, Richard Clark, EdD, to examine biological changes that occur during adolescence and discuss how learning opportunities can support adolescent development.
For School Librarians…
Unleashing the instructional leadership of librarians is key to fostering schools that are Future Ready. That’s why Future Ready Schools®, a project of All4Ed, recently released a new program, Future Ready Librarians™, dedicated to supporting school librarians in their professional practice, programs, and spaces.
Future Ready Librarians™ provides resources and strategies, including the new framework, for district leaders and librarians to work together to bring innovative learning opportunities to students.
Not a librarian?
You can build out your personal learning network through other Future Ready Schools (FRS) programs that serve district leaders, principals, technology leaders, and instructional coaches!
Want to connect with other edtech leaders in person?
FRS offers a number of ways for you to jump start your district’s vision and planning efforts with the guidance of Future Ready facilitators as well as opportunities to collaborate with your peers. This fall, FRS is offering five FREE two-day Institutes to support the growing network of FRS district leaders implementing personalized learning. Additionally, FRS is working with state leaders across the country to offer state-specific workshops that are customized to statewide initiatives and goals.
