Before the school doors close for the holidays, check another item off your to-do list by marking your spot on the Digital Learning Day (DLDay) 2020 event map!

Will you be joining in the annual celebration of great teaching and the effective use of technology on February 27, 2020? If so, let us know how you will be celebrating by adding your DLDay event to the map alongside the other participating schools, districts, classrooms, and libraries!

A new partnership between EducationSuperHighway and the Alliance for Excellent Education (All4Ed) is highlighting short stories – one for each state – about schools removing barriers, saving time, and improving outcomes for students by embracing digital learning. We’ve already posted stories for AlabamaArizonaConnecticutDelawareFloridaIdahoIllinoisKansasMinnesotaMontana, and Texas. More will be coming so check back each week and spread the word about great digital learning practices!

Featured Story: An Interactive Rhino in Texas

Tweet ImageScience instruction has been transformed by digital learning in Llano Independent School District, Texas. For one technology expo, students used online tools to create and edit a documentary about endangered rhinos. They projected the video on a wall behind a large interactive 3-D rhino they made out of paper, glue, and conductive buttons that, when pressed, made rhino noises. Another science class used an augmented reality platform to create topographical maps to measure lava and water flows in real life.
